Mauna Kea Awakens the Lāhui

On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, Govenor Ige announced that construction of the 30 Meter Telescope (TMT) will begin on July 15, 2019 and on July 17, 2019 twenty-eight Kanaka Maoli elders (including one of the founders of Ka Lāhui Hawai’i) were arrested while blocking the road sparking a great awakening in indigenous Hawaiian communities. Ka Lāhui Hawai’i PAC took part in the occupation of Mauna Kea, planned protest events on O’ahu and attended the Governor’s Press Conference where he announced his plans for construction of the TMT. Educational Booths and Pre Release of the 2019 Koho Pono Legislative Report Card

Ka Lāhui Hawai’i Political Action Committee began releasing the 2019 Koho Pono Legislative Report Card in July 2019. KPAC set two educational booths passing on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Bishop Museum in Honolulu and Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the annual Lā Ho’iho’i Ea (Sovereignty Restoration Day) celebration passing out Report Cards, registering voters, passing out information on issues, and collecting donations for the Mauna Medics on Mauna Kea.
