Testimony Against UH Administrative Rules for Mauna Kea

On June 3, 2019 at Mānoa Elementary School Cafeteria, Ka Lāhui Hawai’i Political Action Committee (KPAC), testified against the promulgation of Administrative Rules for Mauna Kea by the University of Hawai’i. If passed these Rules would violate the Hawai’i State Constitutional Rights of Kanaka Maoli as well as our Human Rights to access the Mauna Kea Summits for spiritual and cultural purposes.

KPAC Responds to the State’s Desecration of Mauna Kea and Giving the Green Light to Build TMT

In the predawn morning of June 30, 2019 the State of Hawai’i took down Kanaka Maoli religious structures atop Mauna Kea and then announced later that morning that they were giving the green light to TMT to build their 18 story tall telescope on our sacred mountain. KPAC attended the Governor’s press conference and responded to his egregious actions and intentions against the Kanaka Maoli people and our most sacred mountain. See the news coverage link below.
