Chair Leianuenue Niheu, BA (Hawaiian Studies)
Leianuenue is a long time Kanaka Maoli sovereignty activist and a cultural practitioner of Hawaiian no’eau and spiritualism. She is the great granddaughter of William Punohu White who co-authored the 1893 constitution that Queen Liliuokalani tried to promulgate. She currently resides in Nu’uanu, O’ahu with her daughter.
Vice-Chair Ka’iulani Lambert, BA (Hawaiian Studies)
Kanaka Maoli expert on issues related to land title including kuleana lands who comes from a family who have a long history with Ka Lāhui Hawai’i. She volunteers her time with the Kura Kaupapa Maori Cultural Exchange as a facilitator and is also a cultural practitioner as a member of the Waimānalo Canoe Club and the Kuhai Hālau o Kawaikapu Pā ‘Ōlapa Kahiko. She resided in Kahalu’u, O’ahu with her ‘ohana.
Secretary Healani Sonoda-Pale, MEd (Early Education)
Kanaka Maoli educator who has taught Hawaiian immersion preschools, Hawai’i High Schools, Colleges and Correctional Facilities for over twenty years. She is a volunteer board member of ‘Īlau Hoe and Hui Lanakila Canoe Clubs and is the co-founder of ‘Aha Aloha ‘Āina and Protest Na’i Aupuni. Currently, she works at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and resides in Kuliouou, O’ahu with her husband and two sons.
Treasurer Nani Ome
She is a Kanaka Maoli Papakōlea Homesteader on the island of O’ahu and has decades of experience serving as the Executive for a Hawaii corporation.
Kupuna Advisor Rebekah Luke, BA (Journalism)
A Kanaka Maoli artist who resides in Ka’a’awa with her husband. She is a Reiki master teacher and sings in the Kawaiolaonapukanileo ensemble. Rebekah is also a member of the Association of Hawai’i Artists, Windward Artists Guild, and Ko’olauloa Hawaiian Civic Club. She owns and is the designer of Chong Hee Books, manages a blog (Rebekah’s Studio), and was the Executive Director for Hale Kū’ai, a Kanaka Maoli Cooperative for many years.
Lehua Kinilau, JD
A Kanaka Maoli expert in the Hawai’i State Legislative process. Lehua is the last elected Kia’aina of Ka Lāhui Hawai’i.
Kealoha Pisciotta
A Kanaka Maoli protector of Mauna Kea for nearly 30 years. She has been instrumental over the decades in preventing further desecration of our most sacred Mauna. She currently resides in Puna on Hawai’i island.
Kahunawai Wright, PhD (Education)
Dr. Wright is a long time Kanaka Maoli citizen of Ka Lāhui Hawai’i and a former volunteer board member of Hawai’i Peoples Fund. She currently works at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and resides in Kalihi, O’ahu.
Kapali Keahi, BA (Hawaiian Studies)
A Kanaka Maoli activist, songwriter and musician who currently resides in Lahaina on the island of Maui. He is active with Mana Maoli, a former band member of Lahaina Grown and has fought for the protection and preservation of Honokōhau valley.
