Hawai’i State Democratic Party Convention May 25-7, 2018

KPAC members (on their own dime) attended the 2018 Hawai’i Democratic Party Convention on Hawai’i island from May 25-27, 2018 to monitor the actions of the Party that has been in Power in Hawai’i since 1954.  KPAC in effort to be more proactive advocated for and voted to pass the revised more progressive Democratic platform which broadens Hawai’i Democratic Party support for Kanaka Maoli self-determination as defined under the international law taking out language that previously limited Democratic Party support to only the US definition of self-determination.  The new platform passed.
