Measure Title: RELATING TO HAWAIIAN LANGUAGE
Report Title: UH; Hawaiian Language Translation of State Constitution; Appropriation; Court Proceedings; Hawaiian Language Interpreters
Description: Appropriates funds to the University of Hawai‘i to translate the Hawai‘i State Constitution into the Hawaiian language.  Requires courts to provide Hawaiian language translation services upon request of any party to a proceeding.

Measure Title: RELATING TO PERSONAL PRIVACY.
Report Title: Department of Hawaiian Home Lands; Disclosure of Government Records
Description: Specifies certain government records maintained by the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands are not required to be publicly disclosed or made open to inspection pursuant to public records requests and may be discussed during an executive meeting of the Hawaiian Homes Commission. Effective 7/1/2050

Measure Title:  RELATING TO PRETRIAL RELEASE.
Report Title:  Pretrial Release; Court Appearance Reminder System; Risk Assessment
Description: Requires courts to order any person charged with a criminal offense to be released on personal recognizance or on the execution of an unsecured bond, unless the person is unlikely to appear for trial. Requires the Judiciary to establish statewide court appearance reminder system. Establishes requirements for any pretrial risk assessment tool used by the Judiciary.

Measure Title: RELATING TO UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS
Report Title: Underground Storage Tanks and Systems; Environmental Protection; Department of Health
Description: Requires, on or before 9/1/2018, that the department of health adopt rules for underground storage tanks and tank systems to conform with certain federal regulations and that include additional requirements for field-constructed underground storage tanks and tank systems.

S.B. 2305|  Testimony Family Visitation Center Pilot Project (pdf)

Measure Title:  RELATING TO INCARCERATED PARENTS
 Report Title:  Keiki Caucus; Incarcerated Parents; Pilot Visitation Centers; Appropriation
 Description: Requires the establishment of a pilot visitation center or centers for children of incarcerated parents in correctional facilities in the State and a plan for visitation centers at all state operated correctional facilities. Appropriates funds to the department of human services to work with other stakeholders to implement this Act.

Measure Title:  RELATING TO AN UNDERGRADUATE HEALTH SCIENCES ACADEMY
Report Title:  UH; Health Sciences; Native Hawaiians; Pacific Islanders; Report; Appropriation
 Description: Establishes an undergraduate health sciences academy to be administered by the University of Hawai‘i at West O‘ahu to increase recruitment and retention of Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and first generation college students. Requires the University of Hawai‘i at West O‘ahu to submit a report to the legislature regarding educational outcomes. Appropriates funds.

Description: Requires any report of a study or an audit enacted with a legislative appropriation and conducted by an executive department or agency, including the Hawaii health systems corporation, and by the legislative reference bureau, auditor, judiciary, or Office of Hawaiian Affairs, to be submitted to the senate president, speaker of the house, chairs of the appropriate subject matter committee of each house, and the legislative reference bureau library. Requires a public hearing or informational briefing within one year of receipt of report, except if extension granted to the hearing or briefing requirement by the senate president or speaker of the house of representatives or if the requirement is waived by the senate president or speaker of the house of representative.
