Ka Lāhui Hawai’i Political Action Committee (KPAC) Supports the Mauna Kea Gathering at UH Mānoa
On November 1, 2018 about a 100 people gathered to hear speeches, pray and network at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa in the wake of the Hawai’i Supreme Court decision that upheld the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) permit atop Mauna Kea. The Court’s decision came out on October 30, 2018 and set back conservation law and Kanaka Maoli right decades in order to make way for the 18 story telescope to be built on Hawai’i’s most sacred mountain. KPAC provided information on the upcoming elections and where candidates stand on the issue of TMT and free food.
